An animated, kinetic pavilion constructed of 380,000 precision-cut Bohemian crystals, the Crystal Lobby Show at Galaxy Macau features 146,000 individual LEDs, 32 dancing fountains, 8 leaping water jets, and an immense moving ceiling of 24 overlapping, crystal-clad petals and 12 rotating chandelier orbs.
NightLight partnered with The Hettema Group to support this one-of-a-kind attraction in multiple facets. Artists created original, multi-dimensional show animations for the tens of thousands of LEDs embedded throughout the exhibit, as well as conventional screen animations for the 3 LED billboards along the room’s periphery.
NightLight also had a strong hand in the previsualization of this experience throughout multiple phases of development, including 2D "boardomatics," 3D renderings, and real-time fly-throughs using Unreal Engine. These tools proved especially handy during a programming and commissioning period which took place entirely remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
