When Hook wanted to transform the web-based timeline they built to showcase Google’s AI achievements into an interactive installation, they turned to NightLight to bring their vision to life. Debuting at a research event on Google’s campus, Pillars of Time invites guests to navigate Google’s 20-year history of boundary-pushing AI development through a formation of five megalithic display towers.

NightLight worked on the overall installation design and created programming for the touchscreen displays, employing TouchDesigner to adapt Hook’s microsite into 15 screens arranged in 5 pillars. NightLight oversaw fabrication and installation by the excellent team at Alchemy’s Child. Following the installation’s success at the conference, the pillars were moved to a permanent display location at Gradient Canopy.
