HOLOSCENES / Little Boxes is a 6-minute art/science film based on Lars Jan/Early Morning Opera's original HOLOSCENES performance installation and specially adapted for NOAA's Science On a Sphere® global display system. The installation features exquisite visuals of performers carrying out everyday behaviors in human-sized glass aquariums, as water gradually rises and falls.
NightLight created the original spherical video and surround audio of Little Boxes in collaboration with Early Morning Opera. The film combines performance documentation footage with original motion graphics animations drawing on the most current scientific data.
Produced by EcoArts Connections in collaboration with the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Available to nearly 200 global institutions with Science On a Sphere installations, and streaming free online.
