Visions of the Public Square is an interactive installation that invites members of the public to collectively envision our shared digital future. It uses Stable Diffusion text-to-image AI illustration model to transform users’ written responses into fantastic visions, in real time.
Conceived in partnership with Purpose as a companion activation for Refik Anadol’s “Machine Hallucinations,” the piece debuted at The Shed in NYC for Project Liberty’s Unfinished Live conference in 2022. Tying together visitor questionnaires, particle interaction, and realtime image generation, it provided an arena for conference-goers and general public alike to reflect on the conference’s themes and add their own voices to the conversation.
